MARK ASHTON has been involved with the practice of family law since being admitted to the bar in 1980. He has been blogging about his experiences as a trial lawyer in this field since 2008.
During his career, he has been a partner for three decades with an AMLAW 100 law firm and chaired the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He helped found an Inn of Court devoted to improving family law practice. He has taught more than 70 seminars on subjects ranging from the trial of child custody cases to the valuation of private business interests. He has argued more than 50 cases in Pennsylvania’s Superior and Supreme Courts and has managed or consulted in cases throughout the Commonwealth. He retired from practice in 2022 but remains active in the family law community as a writer and speaker.
